Dynamics of a body that is in contact with a rigid surface (Second Ed.., revised and complemented)

The book is a systematic exposition of fundamental problems, methods and results concerned with the dynamics of bodies contacting rigid surfaces. The following systems are considered in detail: 1) dynamics of a rigid body on a rough surface and 2) dynamics of a rigid body on a smooth horizontal plane with Coulomb and viscous sliding friction. Several problems on the motion of a body with  a cavity filled with liquid on a fixed horizontal plane are examined. Moreover, the book presents the analysis of motion of  a rigid body which periodically bounces off an absolutely  smooth surface.

The book is intended for specialists in the fields of gyro-mechanics and analytical mechanics, final year and postgraduate students of technical universities.
