Introduction to Robotics: Mechanics and Control (3rd Edition)

This is a paper on the systematic study of the interrelation between electrophysiology, nonlinear dynamics and computational properties of neurons. The special emphasis is made on the fact that the information processing in the brain depends not only on the  electrophysiological properties of neurons but on their dynamical properties as well. The reader is introduced to dynamical systems starting with one- or two-dimensional models like the Hodgkin-Huxley models and continuing with the description of fluctuating systems. The material of each chapter is presented on the principle “from the simple to the complex” with routine problems at the end of each chapter.
